We visited Pat's on Saturday night, expecting this fabulous place, and it was okay. I wasn't overwhelmed. The glasses for tea and water were little bigger than a shot glass, so our waitress gave us (half-full) pitchers to keep our sippie cups fullish. We started off with cheese sticks, which were probably the best part of the meal. I had fried shrimp, and it was okay. It was lightly battered, which was a nice change from some of the other shrimp I had over the weekend. It was bland, though. Not much flavor. The fries were also bland. The jambalaya wasn't... fresh. or good. The hush puppy was awesome! I found myself searching the table for an uneaten hush puppy. Our waitress was great, considering she was getting her arse handed to her every which direction. I didn't have any beverages on account of some prior Mardi Gras celebration that precluded me from wanting one. They provided a ton of crackers, though, and that gets a thumbs up!

Our swamp tour guide recommended Pat's and it was a good recommendation. I'd call it solid creole/cajun fare: I had a shrimp etoufee and my wife had broiled shrimp. Both were very flavorful, though both were over-salted. Not pretentious. Nice dining room with outside dining and a view over some water.
